Commissioned by the COC x National Ballet’s Expanding the Canvas Programme
Expanding the Canvas was a digital research commission by the Canada Opera Company x The National Ballet of Canada, with partnership from Sheridan’s Screen Industries Research and Training Centre.
Through this digital commission I was able to play with motion capture and Unreal Engine, developing the works-in-progress piece, Looking Glass. This work marries the live and digital versions of its performers in order to give voice to deeper internal worlds and physicalize internal sensations.
This experience deepened my knowledge of digital media, allowing me to understand the scope, parameters and possibilities this medium holds.
